Today there is almost no production in this region, but the designs and techniques of these Kazak rugs are being replicated throughout the world. New Kazakh rugs use these same geometric motifs and designs, as well as others seen throughout the Caucuses. Some have a subtle mat finish like a weathered antique, while others have rich full vibrant natural colors with an almost silky sheen. The pile is generally cut short producing a thin rug, so the geometric designs appear more clearly and crisply. No two Kazakhs will be alike and they exhibit a tribal aesthetic that is charming and enduring.
